Most storage units will not allow customers to store weapons or ammunition of any kind in their units. Not only is it illegal but it can also be dangerous. Due to the flammable and explosive properties of the ammunition, UK government regulations have incredibly strict rules on where firearms can and can’t be stored.
Firearms should be stored in a room or area that does not have direct access outside. While ammunition must be kept in a locked box, in a separate room or area than the firearm it goes with.
As a general rule, we do not encourage the storing of food in our self-storage units. Our units are not climate controlled and stored food may rot and attract bugs, rodents and other animals. Storing food in your storage unit can cause the unit to become smelly, and dirty and could contaminate other stored items.

All of these items cannot be stored in our Bridgewater self-storage units, not only can they be damaging to your health, but they could also put your and others’ storage containers, possessions and health at risk.
It may sound strange, but people often try to store pets, plants or other humans in storage units. Not only is this inhumane, illegal and cruel, but the conditions within the storage unit can be unsafe for plants and animals, with limited oxygen, water and sunlight. Please note, it is also illegal and dangerous to stay or live inside your storage unit.
No matter the size or value of the stolen items, from your brother’s girlfriend’s hair straighteners to Ocean’s Eleven-style casino vaults, please do not store any illegal, prohibited or stolen items in your storage unit. Not only will this lead to your rental agreement being terminated, but the police will be called too.
