If you’ve never rented a storage unit before, it’s natural to wonder exactly what’s involved – what to bring, what happens when you arrive, and how everything actually works day-to-day. This guide walks you through the whole process, from booking to picking up your first item back out of storage.

We’ll ask a few simple questions – roughly how much you need to store, and for how long – so we can recommend a unit size before you even arrive. If you’re not sure yet, that’s fine too; you can view a few sizes in person and decide on the day.

That’s genuinely all you need. There’s no credit check, no guarantor, and no long paperwork process.
When you get to our site, one of our team will meet you, show you around, and talk through the unit sizes available so you can see the actual space before committing. Our facility is fully enclosed with anti-climb fencing and electronically controlled gates, so you’ll notice the security straightaway – CCTV is in operation across the whole site, and access is controlled by individually coded key fobs rather than shared keys or codes.
Units range from around 40 sq ft up to 160 sq ft, starting from £78 per month. If you’re still unsure what size fits your belongings, our team will help you judge it in person – it’s much easier to get right standing in front of the actual unit than guessing from a size chart online. Once you’ve chosen your unit and completed your paperwork, you’re issued your own personal key fob on the spot. This is what gives you access to the site and your specific unit – no one else can get in using your fob, and you can come and go independently within our access hours (7am – 9pm Monday to Friday, 8am – 8pm at weekends).
You can start using your unit the same day. Our wide pathways make it easy to load larger items, and if you’re storing furniture or boxes, it’s worth taking a few photos of how everything’s arranged before you lock up – it makes finding things again much easier later on. Whenever you need something back, you simply come during our access hours, use your key fob to get in, and take what you need – there’s no need to book ahead or notify us in advance. If you’re ready to leave the unit altogether, we just ask for seven days’ notice.
